As the weeks draw closer to the end of the semester, our schedules become much busier. For the first time ever, N-House organised a Yoga session to help the residents stay focused, mindful and recharge their souls for their upcoming exams. The Yoga session was held by The Yoga Movement, an awesome yoga studio that teaches yoga in an enjoyable way!
Yoga exercise is essentially getting into different postures often connected by flowing sequences. Each posture is aimed at stretching your muscles and loosening them up, releasing any tension built about during your daily activities. It is also accompanied by rhythmic breathing and often ending with relaxation, which aims to calm the mind.
According to medical studies, the relaxation techniques incorporated in yoga can lessen chronic pain, such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches and carpal tunnel syndrome.
Other physical benefits of yoga include:
- increased flexibility
- improved respiration, energy and vitality
- maintaining a balanced metabolism
- protection from injury
Our N-House residents were blessed to have Yu Xuan as our instructor, teaching us the basics of Yoga in such a cheerful manner!
Do make sure to check out the Yoga Movement if you are interested in embarking the Yoga journey! Check them out here: Website, Facebook, Instagram.
