N-House ushered in the new academic year by hosting a Welcome Day for all our new N-house residents last Saturday, 17th August. As part of a new initiative to be closer to the Hangar, N-House has shifted its residence to Sheares Hall and Kent Ridge hall where an equal number of residents are now part of the respective hall communities. We hope all our residents had fun and got to know their peers better through the event! Prof Chee Yeow Meng, Associate Vice President (Innovation & Enterprise) had graced our event by starting the day with a speech.
To get the residents warmed up for the day, the first game of the morning was Human Bingo! N-House residents were required to move around the Hangar to find residents with specific backgrounds in order to get their signatures on the bingo sheet given to them.
Subsequently, we had an amazing race conducted at three different locations (The Hangar, The Curie and Block 71) with each location having a specific task/activity for the residents to complete. Moreover, these locations were specifically chosen with the intention to raise awareness on the amount of valuable network we can leverage on within the NOC and local entrepreneurship community, and as a reminder for participants to appreciate, and utilize these networks to our advantage
At the Curie, N-House residents were required to play “Spider Web”. The team which untangled themselves the fastest was declared the winner for that station.
At the Hangar, teams were required to mimic poses of popular pop-culture groups! Who knew our residents were such good posers? *ahem*
Lastly, at Block 71, teams were required to get their entire team from a specific point to another point by only stepping on one newspaper at a time. The catch was to make sure that all team members were transported via the same newspaper at the same time. This was definitely fun to watch!
It was a great event to start off the semester, with a high level of energy and positivity throughout the morning. Looking forward to more exciting events to come!
